First impressions are everything to your home’s exterior

First impressions are everything, especially to your home’s exterior. We all judge a book by it’s cover. But, have you considered what your home’s exterior reveals about you? Is it looking a little lackluster, perhaps its time for a refresh? Whether you want to rev up your curb appeal, or put it on the market, a little elbow grease goes a long way.

I decided to tap into my inner Spring fever to freshen up the character of my home’s exterior. Small welcoming details make a huge difference.

A fresh coat of paint adds major appeal to the exterior appearance of your home. Depending on your budget refreshing the trim can go along way to brighten your entire castle.  Installing new lighting fixture or updating your current ones with spray paint will make your entrance look like a million bucks.

My garage door needed some serious love. Two coats of a mocha colored paint to match the house trim did the trick. Light fixtures were treated to a shiny copper coat of paint, making them come alive.

If you are curious as to what my fixtures looked like before they received some attention. The photo below illustrates the effect of years of hot Arizona sun. The fixtures were faded and dusty.

Small welcoming details like a flower pots, signage, welcome mats and lighting put the pride in home ownership. Keeping your jewel box in mint condition is important for a variety of reasons. First, it makes you happy and brings a smile to your face. Your neighbors are happy because it keeps real estate values steady and makes your neighborhood a desired place to live.
