I adore using paint to transform spaces. It’s the easiest, most sure fire and cost efficient way to make a statement, right before your eyes. Enter Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®, and my love affair has been taken to an entirely new dimension. I magically transformed my classic black desk to Tiffany Blue with the stroke of a brush, using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®, in Provence.
My love affair with her paint line started with my bathroom floor. No stripping, sanding or priming and my bathroom and home office floors looks amazing. HELLO, I am a believer!

After painting the harlequin diamond pattern on my floors in French Linen and Old White, it needed a punch of color. I narrowed my choice between Provence and Ducks Egg Blue. I selected the bolder blue of Provence to add some serious punch to my home office.
Did I mention that I didn’t have to strip, sand or prime the desk? My friends at Wood Creations Furniture had all the supplies and expert advice that I needed to take my desk from ordinary to extraordinary. I purchased a quart of paint in Provence, Annie Sloan wax and a brush for sealing and soft cheese cloth for buffing.
Let the process begin
I washed the desk with Dawn® dish detergent, twice, for a clean surface. From the first paint brush stroke, I knew I selected the right color. It’s like watching magic happen right before your eyes. I applied two coats of paint and let it dry during the night.
The next day, I pulled out my wax brush and sealed it with Annie Sloan wax and buffed it to a buttery rich finish with cheesecloth. There are a variety of videos online to watch for tips and techniques to transform spaces and places. Check out my desk! Hello Tiffany Blue, you are beautiful!
